operocka is...

a live improvised Rock Opera in the vein The Who’s Tommy, Rent, and Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Based on one simple suggestion, the group improvises a Rock Opera in which 99% everything is sung. And it’s not just boring songs… we’re talking rock and roll.

Born out of iO West Operocka premiered at the LA Improv Festival in July 2009. Since the premier they have performed at various venues throughout LA including iO West, M.I.’s Westside Comedy Theater, Jive Joint, Mustaches and Mai Thais, Room 101, The Little Modern, Flappers Comedy Club and Loyola Marymount University.
